Mirage fork spreader, black
Mirage fork spreader black
Changing the rear tyre is quite a job without this Mirage fork spreader. The tool that the bicycle mechanic also uses for this job, albeit in a heavier version. The two hooks are provided with a plastic protection to prevent damage to the frame.
Mirage fork spreader for the do-it-yourself workshop.
The biggest challenge when changing a rear tyre is to get the tyre into the frame. Removing the whole rear wheel is quite a job. This Mirage fork removal tool makes changing a tyre a lot easier! Loosen the wheel nut on one side (the side without the chain guard, on the right) and possibly other nuts. And use the Mirage fork spreader to easily turn both parts apart. Do not do this too far and be careful with aluminium frames! This is officially only allowed for steel frames.
